After the Deluge
When our time ends
from this leavened,
universal scourge,
this irrecoverable, chaotic,
desecration of our lives,
and we have
socially distanced,
flattened the curve.
vaccinated, sanitized,
masked, and mourned,
then we will
renew our joy in
each other’s company,
reclaim our lives with
thankful reprieve, and
smile again with grateful hearts.
