Author's Commentary

‘Love’ is a painting about becoming a woman going through all the challenges of womanhood. It starts as a girl with curiosity and openness to the world and showing the compassionate heart and sensitivity to love and being loved. Through the life experiences, the girl develops distrust and insecurity, and she slowly becomes a woman with both sides of the world – certainty and uncertainty; self-love and self-doubt.

‘Forgotten’ is a painting about couples in conflict. They love each other, but they distrust each other. It represents a cloud of emotions between two individual human beings. From the outer world, it represents love, but from the inner world, it represents misunderstanding.

The Author

Tiko El Outa is a Georgian German artist based in New York City. She was born in the Republic of Georgia and moved to Germany at the age of 15. Tiko decided to become an actor after learning that she can discover more about herself through acting. Tiko believes that acting is part of everyone’s daily life. To her, being an authentic actor means to be an authentic human being.

Besides acting, Tiko expresses her inner world through poetry and painting. She visualizes her poems through her paintings. Each of her works is a story of harmony between two seemingly-contradictory concepts – imperfection in perfection, perfection in imperfection, love in pain, and pain in love. She is not a technical painter and all of her artworks are her own experiments. She published a poetry book ‘Wenn die Leidenschaft ruft’ (link) in 2016 in Germany.
